Custer Legionnaires,

It’s time to remember our honored dead.   Custer Post #46 does so by decorating veterans’ graves and participating in 3 Memorial Day ceremonies.  This year’s Graves Decoration will be conducted 28 May, the Friday before Memorial Day, at Custer City Cemetery.  It commences at 5:00 pm.  All participants muster with Post Service Officer Glenn Talley, Jr. for assignments at the cemetery's VFW flagpole.

Monday, 31 May Memorial Day ceremonies involving our Post are conducted at 3 locations under the lead of Kenneth Kuper Post #3442, VFW.  Custer Veterans Honor Guard is a major component of these ceremonies.  Honor Guard Captain Tony Gonsor will be providing detailed instructions to honor guard members.  The 3 Memorial Day ceremonies are:

9:00 am               Cold Springs Pioneer Cemetery

10:00 am             Pringle Cemetery

11:00 am             Custer City Cemetery

Grave decorations retrieval will be conducted on Tuesday, 01 June, at Custer City Cemetery.  Again, muster with Post Service Officer Talley, 5:00 pm at the cemetery’s VFW flagpole for instructions.

Finally, Memorial Day activities in Custer County encompass more than above events.  An extensive listing is attached below    And watch for this week’s issue of the Custer County Chronicle for a good overall description.

Looking forward to seeing you throughout Memorial Day weekend.  For those who cannot attend a Memorial Day observance, please pause on that day to remember those who paid the price for our freedom.
